Barnwell Mountain Recreation Area is located in northeastern Texas and offers some of the best off-roading available in the area. The trail system is maintained and owned by the Texas Motorized Trail Coalition and consists of a variety of trail options that range in difficulty. The Omega trail is an easy trail that acts as a perimeter trail providing access to other trails within the system. The trail is passable for any stock SUV and features some off-camber sections and ruts. An off-road OHV sticker from Texas Parks and Wildlife is required as well as a daily use fee for use in the park.
