Barnwell Mountain Recreation Area is located in northeastern Texas and offers some of the best off-roading available in the area. The trail system is maintained and owned by the Texas Motorized Trail Coalition and consists of a variety of trail options that range in difficulty. The green lane trail is short but offers some challenging terrain that is rated as difficult. The trail is passable by experienced drivers in higher clearance stock 4WD vehicles. There is a larger ledge obstacle on the trail. An off-road OHV sticker from Texas Parks and Wildlife is required as well as a daily use fee.
