A thousand feet high in places, Caprock Canyons Escarpment can be explored in Caprock Canyons State Park. This red rock formation has distinctive geology that has been described as the Zion’s Park of Texas. This trail has one fairly strenuous section that climbs over 500 feet in about ½ mile, so be prepared for an exertion on this adventure. Also be sure to explore Fern Cave near the loop point, about 2 2/3 miles into this trail.
