This guard station was built in 1935 by the Civilian Conservation Corps and was used as a remote guard station for the early Forest Service Crews. It sits in a large meadow and is surrounded by forested rolling hills with a variety of wildlife that inhabits the area. The cabin is furnished with a full-sized bed, a fold-out couch, refrigerator, stove, basic cooking supplies, a table, and chairs. A propane heater provides heat and there is also a bathroom with a shower and flush toilet. There is also additional space for tent camping and a bunkhouse, tool shed, barn and stable with several horse paddocks. Campers have access to riding and hiking trails. The overnight camping fee is $50.
