With Mount Washington as a backdrop, Big Lake is a gorgeous alpine lake lined with trees. The lake is popular in the summer for boating, swimming and fishing and there is a private youth camp on the southeast shore. Even with heavy use, the lake maintains clear and pristine water quality. Big lake is located about 50 miles northwest from Bend.
