Hanging Rock Area is located in Wayne National Forest and is an area strip-mined from the 1960s. The area is well known for its fishing ponds and challenging trails for riding. The trails are open to ATVs and mountain bike use. Hanging Rock Trail is what gives the area its name and is one of the steepest trails. Watch for ruts, moguls, potholes and washouts from the ATV riding. The west and east ends are the steepest.
