This trail is technically challenging due to the large sections of slick rock, loose rocks, and large boulders. The trail begins easily with a few small rocks and roots in the trail but as you get deeper into Borderland, the trail begins to steepen and the rocks abruptly appear. The singletrack becomes a mass of granite boulders averaging the size of soccer balls. Most of the climbs are short and steep, demanding the rider to be prepared to shift gears at a moment’s notice and the descents are bumpy. There is a muddy section with loose boards acting as bridges which may require the rider to walk your bike across. Overall this ride can be a beautiful experience with unique scenery if you have the skills to ride the terrain.
