Lake Cascade is the fourth largest lake in Idaho, creating a large and diverse recreation site. It's nearly 30,000 surface acres and is part of the US Bureau of Reclamation's Boise Project. This outing takes course on the larger portion of the lake with exposure to wind and small waves. Take a quiet trip by the shoreline and you’ll likely see bald eagles, sandhill cranes, white pelicans or swans. Shoreline access is excellent and numerous docks and ramps are available in the area. Boating facilities, campsites, dump station, fuel, handicap access, motor coach parking, parking, restrooms, vault toilets, and a visitor center are all available at the lake. Pass by Sugarloaf Island and enjoy the views of the West Mountains to the west. Fishing is excellent with populations of rainbow, salmon, small mouth bass, and perch.
