Located in Camas County, the Big Smoky Trail starts at Canyon Transfer Camp off of Road #70085. The popular hike follows Big Smoky Creek through a narrow canyon with a very gradual climb into the Smoky Mountains. Expect several streams crossings, wildlife, and plenty of stream-side vegetation. Eventually the trail reaches a steep mining road that makes it way to a meadow, offering amazing scenic views over the Smoky Drainage. Be well equipped with food, water, and supplies for this multi-day trip. There is a $6.00 fee if you plan on camping.
