Located east of Boise, the reservoir is formed by the Arrowrock Dam and is managed by the Boise National Forest. Water is filled within a 18 mile narrow canyon of 3,150 acres, and there is limited access to 60 miles of shoreline. Boating, canoeing, windsurfing, and fishing are the major recreation activities at the reservoir. There are amazing vistas of the Boise Mountains to the north and the Danskin Mountains to the south. Rainbow trout, kokanee, yellow perch, whitefish, bull trout, and bridgelip sucker are stocked in the reservoir. The reservoir is open all year with no fees. There are boat ramps, docks, vault toilets, parking, and dispersed camping in the area. Parking is located off of Highway 21 down Spring Shores Road and Arrow Rock Road.
