While few make the climb up, many take the opportunity to ride a shuttle to the top and bike down. Cruising down Haleakala is one of the most popular excursions on Maui. The top is a popular place to see the sunrise. Bring all food and supplies from Kahului because there is no food sold in the park. You can get water at Hosmer Grove, 10.5 miles from the base of Crater Road.
