The West Branch Reservoir offers a pleasant and scenic paddle tucked away in the northernmost part of the state in the middle of a thickly wooded area in the Charles Arnold Recreation Area. The shores of the lake are lined with a variety of tree species, including maple, birch, beech and sycamore. There is descent fishing in the reservoir too; there are largemouth, smallmouth bass, rock bass and trout. Ice fishing is popular on this lake too.
