This paddle down the Salmon River is great for intermediate level paddlers who are looking to improve their whitewater skills. The current is moderate for most of the paddle that makes practicing eddy turns, peel-outs and some surfing much easier. The shores of the river are lined with maple, oak, beech, hemlock and birch trees. Be apprised that the difficulty of this paddle can increase significantly when the water levels are too high or too low.
