Located in the northeast corner of Connecticut Five Mile River offers a quiet and peaceful paddling experience. This little, winding stream runs through woodlands and marshes and displays the forests of the area wonderfully. The current is just strong enough to make this paddle fairly easy and interesting. There is also a variety of wildlife that may be seen along the way. Depending on water levels you will want to portage at one or more of the bridges.
