The Mammoth Lakes area of the eastern Sierras offers winter visitors endless opportunities for recreation including miles and miles of trails for snowmobilers to explore. The trail begins on the Sawmill Cutoff Road and heads north to the intersection with trail #3S33. The trail then leads past the Inyo Craters which which are two small volcanic craters. There are also some fun play areas located along the trail. The trail is rated as intermediate and does feature a steady climb up to the craters. Check with the local agencies before setting out for updates on the current trail conditions and snow depth.
