This trail to Mount Shasta begins at Bunny Flats before it moderately ascend up Avalanche Gulch. At 3.4 miles is Helen Lake; this is where people basecamp before the final ascent. This also marks where crampons and ice axes are necessary to complete the remaining 1.8 miles to the summit. Difficulty Rating: Class 3
