At an elevation of 6,000 feet, Lone Pine Campground is located near the base of Mt. Whitney, alongside Lone Pine Creek. Visitors here enjoy many hiking opportunities and trails that lead into the John Muir Wilderness, and Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park. The Mt. Whitney trailhead is just 7 miles away. Anglers also enjoy the area’s great trout fishing. The Lone Pine campground is great for RV camping and tent camping. Campsites are arranged around a single loop. Drinking water, vault toilets food storage boxes are provided. Firewood is available for purchase on-site, and showers are located west of the campground at the Portal Store. Nightly rates range from $22-$60.
