Big Pine Canyon Campground offers two group campground sites located near the Sierra Nevada’s largest and southernmost glaciers, which the two campsites are named after, (Clyde Glacier Group Site and Palisade Groupe Site). Both campsites site along the Big Pine Creek and offer great vistas. Popular activities include: fishing, hiking, backpacking, and climbing. Two popular trailheads are located nearby, the North Fork Trailhead and South Fork trailhead, both of which lead to glacial fed lakes with great views of the glaciers in the area. The Clyde Glacier campsite can accommodate up to 25 people, and the parking includes a 35-foot space and six 20-foot paved spaces. If you are looking for tent camping, Palisade Glacier campsite can accommodate 25 people for tent camping. Campfire rings and grills are provided at both campsites. Nightly rates are $75 and reservations can be made in advance.
