Woods Canyon Lake is the most popular and most accessible of all of the Mogollon Rim lakes and offers a beautiful setting for paddling. The lake is situated in a heavily forested area providing lots of solitude and opportunity for wildlife viewing. The lake is open to non-motorized boats and electric motor boats only. The lake offers a boat ramp, campgrounds, picnicing, great fishing, and lots of great hiking and biking trails around the lake and in the surrounding Mogollon Rim area. There is a small store that sells camping and fishing gear. Boat rentals are also available.

Woods Canyon Lake, on the Mogollon Rim, where you can hike along the creek running out behind the dam. It's a pretty flat "in & out" stroll of between 4.5 and 5 miles. Drive 260 easterly until you're atop The Rim, turn left just past milepost 282. Drive 3 miles, turn right onto road 105, then go about 1.3 miles to turn right again and park it at the general store.
